Thanks to frequent flier miles, we recently were able to visit my family in Miami. It had been a really long time since we'd been there last!! We had SO much fun while we were there, it really was a wonderful trip. I regret that we didn't get to see more of our friends from church, but we did have a wonderful time with my parents and my dearest friend Amy and her kids.
We went to the ZooMiami, the park, a playground or two, the Miami Seaquarium and had a wonderful time being out and about in the finest weather Miami has seen in a while. Such a refreshing change from the freezing temperatures we had been experiencing in Texas lately.
Anyway, the reason you are likely here is for pictures, so here goes...
This has become my favorite memory with LittleBear to date. ZooMiami has a pretty large splash pad outside the new Amazon exhibit and when we got to that portion of the zoo, he really wanted to dive in. I told him we'd come back to it on our way out and a few hours later, we did go back to it. Boy, did he love it. I wish you could hear the laughs and squeals of excitement that were coming out of our little man as he played in the water. It was awesome:
Here we are feeding the birds (ducks, seagulls, Ibises...Ibis'...Ibi? Who knows...) at the park near our house. I especially loved the duck family with 10 ducklings!!!
You've also likely seen this one already, but he loved the seal/sea lion that spit water at the Seaquarium:
Just in case you haven't had enough...here's a photo gallery of our trip :) Thanks Mom and Dad and Amy & kids for a fun week!!!

Thank you Mom!
Mom, this is for you. Thank you for giving me your days and for making growing up so much fun. Becoming a mom has given me such a larger appreciation for everything you did for us. I love that you are my mom and I love that you're one of my dearest friends. Thank you for being the most amazing mom a girl could have hoped for. We had so many good times, just the two of us and every time we had the chance to do something like that, I thought it was the best day ever. Words will never cover it, but I wanted to say thank you and tell the world how amazing you are.
I love you!

LittleBear at the Miami Seaquarium
We're still working on sorting through all our pics and videos from the trip to Grams' and Gramps' house in Florida, but for now here's a video of one of LittleBear's favorite things from the whole trip: the sea lion fountain at Miami's Seaquarium.
(We later figured out the fountain was motion-activated from a nearby sensor and were able to make it come back on for him; he probably spent a good 20 minutes playing there.)
More to come!

Snow day 2011!
It's been almost exactly a year since our last snow day... So I guess we were due for another one?
It all came in over night; so far an official total of 2 inches, but I think we have a little more than that outside. We got LittleBear all bundled up, though he refused to wear his gloves (and that would come back to haunt him), and took him outside. He was fine walking for a bit, until he lost his balance and put his hands down in the snow to brace himself. That was the end, as you can see in this video.
We of course took a few pictures as well, of LittleBear in the snow and our house in the pretty white blanket. Enjoy!
