House-hunting

UPDATE, May 28: As of last night, the offer has been accepted and a closing date agreed upon! That means that, assuming the home inspection doesn't uncover anything major, we have a house!

Here are some pics for y'all to enjoy while we wait to hear if they'll accept it or not for the home inspection!

Here's the front of the house:

The back (sort of side, really) patio:

Garage exterior:

Back yard (it's a corner lot):

When you walk in the front door, you see the formal living room (foreground). Behind that is the dining room area, with the kitchen off to the right and the hallway to the bedrooms heading to the left. Behind the dining room is the family room.

This is the study (probably Bethany's office); it is just off the formal living room, at the front of the house.

The nicely-updated kitchen:

The family room:

If you walk in the front door, go straight to the dining room table and turn left, you'll go down the hallway to the bedrooms. First up on that hallway is the guest bath:

Across the hall is the guest bedroom:

Further down the hall is what will be my den:

Across the hall from the den is the master bedroom:

You get to the garage through the family room; this is what it looks like. The door to the left is a storage space; the door on the left is a laundry room:

Also, here are three videos we made of the house:

  • A shorter walk-through of the house

  • The outside of the house and the yard

  • A longer walk-through of the house, taken when we decided to make an offer

    Orbit, Then and Now

Bethany got a new toy - it's a little digital video camera, a lot like the "disposable" video cameras you can get at CVS, except that this will record up to five hours with a memory card.

Here's a sample video she took this weekend as we took Orbit for a car ride to the 7-11 in West Chester to get a Slurpee (the Slurpee was for me, not him). We figured he should start getting used to riding in the car.

Just for kicks, and for reference, here's a video we took with our old digital camera when we first got Orbit.

    Walking

So they say you're supposed to walk 10,000 steps a day... I figured that's as close as I'm going to get to working out right now, so I bought a pedometer to see how close to that I'm getting. Here are week one's results (number of steps each day):

    Saturday - 1630 (didn't leave the house)
    Sunday - 2086
    Monday - 2920
    Tuesday - 2257
Wednesday - 1885 (accidentally reset it during the day)
    Thursday - 3565
    Friday - 2915
Saturday - 3314 (ran errands and worked around the house)

Looks like I've got a ways to go; it's gonna be tough to walk three to five times as much as I do now...

    p.s. Didn't know I married a Quaker... :)

    What Religion Am I?

Again, not that I really needed to find out either, but here's the list that most closely matches what I believe:

    1. Orthodox Quaker (100%)
    2. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (93%)
    3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (92%)
    4. Bahá'í Faith (77%)
    5. Seventh Day Adventist (72%)
    6. Liberal Quakers (71%)
    7. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (71%)
    8. Eastern Orthodox (68%)
    9. Roman Catholic (68%)
    10. Islam (66%)
