It's baseball season!

Two weeks into Major League Baseball's 2007 season, and so far I'm averaging a game a week. Bethany and I went to NYC Easter weekend to visit our friends the Karafins; Scott and I went to the Yankees-Orioles game Saturday that culminated in A-Rod's two-out, walk-off grand slam. Pretty nuts. Here's me after freezing my tail off at the game (start-time temperature was 38 degrees):

This weekend, a group of us went to the Astros-Phillies game here in Philadelphia. This one didn't turn out well; Jennings got scratched from the start due to tendinitis, and Woody Williams didn't fare well. Phillies 8, Astros 5. At least our friend Mike and his daughter, Grace, (pictured, decked out in a Chase Utley shirt) enjoyed it.

Two more Joseph videos

These ones are a little older -- from last summer (2006), when Joseph was about nine months old.

And of course, there are lots more videos here!

Our visit to the Insectarium

With Bethany's mom in town for the weekend, we decided to visit the Insectarium. It's two stories of bugs located above -- what else? -- an extermination company. The second floor had all sorts of dead, mounted bugs arranged in cases, while the third floor was a sort of insect zoo, with all sorts of living bugs on display. Here's a sample wall on the second floor (butterflies, for Mom).

The mounted specimens were on all the walls, while the center of the floor featured the cased-in "kitchen," where live roaches had taken over. (The other side of the kitchen wall was a bathroom, in similar condition.)

On the third floor, the "curator" even offered to let Bethany's mom pet some of the insects! Here she is, enjoying holding a Madagascar hissing cockroach.

I'm going to leave this last photo without a caption.
