With Bethany's mom in town for the weekend, we decided to visit the Insectarium. It's two stories of bugs located above -- what else? -- an extermination company. The second floor had all sorts of dead, mounted bugs arranged in cases, while the third floor was a sort of insect zoo, with all sorts of living bugs on display. Here's a sample wall on the second floor (butterflies, for Mom).
The mounted specimens were on all the walls, while the center of the floor featured the cased-in "kitchen," where live roaches had taken over. (The other side of the kitchen wall was a bathroom, in similar condition.)
On the third floor, the "curator" even offered to let Bethany's mom pet some of the insects! Here she is, enjoying holding a Madagascar hissing cockroach.
I'm going to leave this last photo without a caption.
